Effective & Efficient Washing-Machine Use

The basic issue here is washing machine longevity; regarding the following related issues:

  1. How often the washer is used;
  2. wash temperature;
  3. wash length; &,
  4. spin speed.

To contribute to the longevity of any washing machine requires? using the:

  1. Least number of washes;
  2. shortest wash cycle;
  3. lowest temperature; &,
  4. slowest spin speed.

All result in making washers:

  1. Cheaper;
  2. quieter;
  3. more stable;
  4. lower in wear-&-tear on the washer's:
    1. Bearings;
    2. motor;
    3. carbon brushes;
    4. suspension;
    5. etc.
  5. gentler on laundry; &,
  6. lower in:
    1. Replacement costs;
    2. repair bills;
    3. electricity bills; &,
    4. damage-per-person to the environment through:
      1. lower fuel-consumption; &,
      2. fewer scrapped washers.

(If the issue is optimum dryness of clothes, then optimal settings must be used to achieve this goal, in terms of the highest spin speed that still has a noticeable effect on dryness of clothes coming out of the washer. This would typically be a maximum of 1400rpm for any wash cycle.)

(If the issue is optimum cleanliness of clothes, then optimal settings must be used to achieve this goal, in terms of the correct wash cycle for the fabrics inserted.)
